Top 5 Tips For The Final Nights of Vivid Sydney at Darling Harbour!

There are only four nights left to go, and then Vivid Sydney is done for another year. We’re sure you’ve already planned your night and jotted down all the cool light activations you want to check out, but we thought we’d share a few extra ideas to make your visit to Darling Harbour even smoother. Here are five cool tips to make your final nights of Vivid easy-breezy.

Special dinners for only three tenners

Is that making it easy or what? Stroll along to Harbourside and take your pick of a whole bunch of lavish meal deals for only $30.

Indulge in a Chinese fusion banquet at Dragon Boat Restaurant, a special dessert of the day at Cyren, a luxe cheese board with wine at The Port, or a mouthwatering Indian banquet at Zaaffran, all for just $30 each.

And that’s not even all of them! Check out our Offers page for the full range of $30 Vivid deals.

Vivid fireworks!

We don’t mean to brag, but we’re kinda famous for our fireworks. And what kind of festival of light would it be if there weren’t any lights in the sky? Grab yourself a ringside seat around Cockle Bay or settle in on a restaurant balcony at Harbourside or Cockle Bay Wharf (Blackbird Café is serving up special Vivid Sydney cocktails) to watch our spectacular fireworks illuminate the night on Friday and Saturday. You don’t want to miss them!

Come dine alfresco

Or, as we prefer to say it in Australia: grab some takeaway and go for a walk. There are so many amazing and easy takeaway options at Darling Quarter around Tumbalong Park, perfect for a wander around the awesome Tumbalong Lights collection of installations. Grab some light and healthy Japanese from Umi Sushi + Udon, a bowl of delicious steaming noodles from Wok N Bowl, or head to Guylian Belgian Chocolate Café for the perfect hot chocolate to keep your hands and heart warm. Head to Betty’s Burgers & Concrete Co. for a tasty burger and thickshake, waltz into Guzman Y Gomez for a spicy burrito, or treat yourself to a healthy, fresh baguette at Taste Baguette. Yum!

Keep on training, Sydney

The best way to get in to experience Vivid Sydney is by train. Trains run frequently to the city on weekdays and every 10 to 15 minutes on weekends, so there are plenty of services running throughout the festival. To get to Darling Harbour, just take the train to Town Hall Station and exit south into Bathurst Street. A short downhill walk (full of pretty lights!) on Bathurst Street will take you directly to Tumbalong Park, ready to start your Vivid exploration!

Park with ease

If you’re travelling from afar or just want to bring the car, there are some great parking options around Darling Harbour. Secure Parking is offering great Vivid deals at their Sussex Street Car Park, with evening parking for only $15 (or $12 if you sign up online!). Or get in closer to the action at Wilson Parking at Darling Quarter, where the night rate starts from $10.50 if you book a bay online.

So what are you waiting for? Come live it up with us at Vivid, before the lights go out.
