Fall Head Over Heels In The Month Of Love

Ah, l’amour. Love is the drug. Love lifts us up where we belong. All you need is love, and from 7 February at Darling Harbour, we’ve got the love for four very special weeks. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s the Month of Love!

Row Your Way To Romance in a rowboat made for two, surrounded by twinkling floating lovehearts on the surface of the harbour. Find love above Pyrmont Bridge with smoothfm‘s Love Song Serenade, and below it with Heartbeats On The Bridge, a big, red, beating heart to keep every lover in time. Be dazzled by our Roses Are Red sculpture at Cockle Bay Wharf, and snap a smooching selfie under Love Is In The Air, a giant double loveheart that will illuminate Palm Grove. Capture the moment on Valentine’s Day in our Month of Love Fotobooth, and hold on to your skirts for Runaway Bride, a wedding dress running race open to all genders and brought to you by Wedded Wonderland and sponsored by Dockside Group, with all proceeds going to Ovarian Cancer Australia.

Make a night of it at Tickle Me Pink; sip champagne from The Pumphouse Month of Luuuurve Bar and take in a film at our outdoor cinema on the Village Green, presented by Handpicked Wines, under the loving gaze of our special Month of Love Luminous light installation at Darling Quarter. Become a couple of Lovers Snapped by the Handpicked Wines roaming love ambassadors, and you’ll receive exclusive access to the Handpicked Wines VIP Lounge. Plus, we’ve got a special Valentine’s weekend in store, with Greek love gods, a cool headphone cinema experience, and a special Valentine’s film.

Delight as the Urban Stream flickers and glows with an array of beautifully crafted floating Lanterns of Love as part of the Chinese Lantern Carnival 2015, a highlight of Month of Love, and find someone special to hold close under our Loved Up Fireworks. You could even pop the question with your own specially curated, personalised fireworks display!*

Month of Love is a celebration of all love, so we’re proud to be throwing lots of Mardi Gras fun! Picture yourself in a classic life-sized Mardi Gras scene at a series of photo walls around the harbour (#selfie #flawless) with Mardi Gras Me, and be entertained by Sydney’s best drag performers in hilarious Drag And Drop pop-up shows. Hear the clatter of high heels (or add to it yourself!) in the Sydney Frontrunners’ 15th annual Little Black Dress Run, to raise funds for the Sydney Children’s Hospital’s Camp Goodtime, which helps kids and families living with HIV. On Sunday 1 March we’ve got a family-friendly Mardi Gras day with a picnic, live entertainment and interactive creative activities for the kids, and then in the evening we’re calling all queens to join us in havin’ a good time, havin’ a good time at Are You Ready For Freddie?, a big-time tribute to Queen frontman and queer icon, the one and only Freddie Murphy!

And don’t forget, for the entire Month of Love you could WIN BIG at our Pash n’ Dash station! Take a pic with your lover and share it with the hashtags #DarlingHarbour #MonthOfLove. Each week we’ll be choosing our ‘smoochers of the week’ who’ll receive a double pass to Thriller at the Sydney Lyric Theatre plus an overnight romance package at the Novotel Rockford Darling Harbour. See darlingharbour.com for full terms and conditions!

So come join us, and help us spread the love.
